Feb 7...The value of quoting all your sources may take away from the impact of your opinions. I would keep them as references at the end of each article. Maybe use asterisk where you refer to one or the other source.

Michael. I agree. I published this auricle as a DRAFT, because I wanted to get the substance out last night. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to covert sources listed in the text to footnotes. I will do this in a revised final version.

In The Trenchant Observer blog, I gather sources as I read and am writing an article. i have found this to be an efficient way to proceed. Following your earlier advice, I have been putting most sources in the footnotes or links in articles for the Trenchant Observations newsletter.

Last night this was not possible. I posted the article after 1:15 a.m., well past my bedtime. My muse wouldn't let go of me earlier. Still, I am happy with the DRAFT I was able to pull together, which hit the major points and included the quotes I wanted to use.. I can and will polish it up later.

Writing an article like today's is harder than many readers may think.
