Slow down, click the links, and read the highlighted articles, e.g., J. Michael Luttig's article, "President for Life"
Our targeted audience includes educated, curious readers who care about what is going on in the country and the world.
In addition to our own analyses, we cite and link to outstanding articles of news and opinion. Time is short, and we see little point in summarizing or restating what others have said in an outstanding manner.
Our effort, after all, is a collective effort.
Significantly, this newsletter should be considered and read as a combination of the narrative text contained in the articles cited in the BACKGROUND section, our own analysis, and the highlighted articles themselves.
Yesterday’s highlighted article, to which a link was provided, illustrates this point.
See,
J. Michael Luttig, “PRESIDENT FOR LIFE; Donald Trump is trying to amass the powers of a king,” The Atlantic, October 28, 2025 (7:00 a.m.).
Luttig has set forth a powerful indictment of Trump’s unconstitutional and illegal actions, as the President amasses the powers of a king, in a far more cogent and authoritative manner than I could ever do.
Luttig’s article is based on hard facts, and not merely untethered opinion.
My analysis or summary of his article would add nothing to its content or expression, except perhaps by enticing some of our readers to click on the link and to actually read the whole article.
I will not abandon the high opinion I have of the intelligence and curiosity of our readers. I can only provide my own analysis and point readers to the very best news and opinion that is out there.
The rest is up to you, the reader. A lot is at stake. The Rule of Law and our Democracy in America are at stake.
This merits slowing down and paying close attention to what is going on, as a prerequisite for the action to defend the Rule of Law and our Democracy that is so vitally important and required.
I urge you all, once again, to read J. Michael Luttig’s article, to consider its implications, and to act. And to recommend his article to everyone you know.
At the same time, you might recommend this Substack newsletter, Trenchant Observations, to everyone you know.
